My World no 17 - Port Augusta

40 min north of Port Germein is Port Augusta.
Not a big town, but definitly an important one in this great area. Here is the main powerplant  in this area west of the Flinders Ranges.  A train with 3 locomotives, 170 wagons, and around 3 km long, is coming in daily from the cole fields in Leigh Creek for the energy production. In this area there is not one windmill in sight as there is in the area north of Port Wakefield.
Here is a peaceful view of the new and the old power plant in Port Augusta.

Just beside the Wharflands in Port Augusta the birds have their own little paradise.

And the Galahs, I suddenly saw one,
Fra June - Port Germein
among a lot of others  dining peacefully at the Wharfs

The windmills at Clements Gap near Redhill and Snowtown

This was my little contribution from my world to you this week, don’t miss out on the rest of the world here! mwtblack

Hei Elisabeth.
Takk så mye for gode ord og omtanken. :)

Liker denne bildeserien veldig godt.
Stilig speilbilde øverst her,
og veldig fine farger på det nest siste bildet.
Harmonisk.

Håper at du har en fin sommer, så langt.
Ønsker deg fine dager videre.
Nyt øyeblikkene OG livet! :)
Klem.

Love the photo with the windmills and all the clouds. The birds look like little parrots. Beautiful landscape and photos.

Fancy! A French Norwegian visiting Australia! You've chosen a very wintry time of the year. But I hope the hospitality has been warm.

Hei Elisabeth! Du er enten norsk eller australsk fordi jeg ser begge språk på bloggen din. Takk for besøk! En av mine døtre bor i Australia, i Queensland. Jeg håper at du skall ha det hyggelig i Australia.

Beautiful collection!

The tower reflection in the water is so artistic in the first photo. And I love those birds, they seem like a mix between a parrot and a pigeon :)

A different world South Australia. Different pictures from the urban sprawl. The pink Galahs are such beautiful birds. You made a great capture there.

Thanks for all comments! I really appreciate them, feel free to criticize the photos too, I can most certainly get better.
P.S. For the time being I'm living in South Australia 3 hours north of Adelaide in Port Germein between Port Pirie and Port Augusta, and yes it's pretty here, and it's a great difference to the ondulating landscape of Razès in South of France.

Who would want to criticize such images? They are beautiful and they show a part of the world I do not know and birds I have never even seen a picture of! :-)

Congratulations on David's Post of the Day Award - I am grateful that he pointed me here today!
